Change your breakfast, change your life

How you start your day can make a huge difference, in this post, we address why it's important to start your day on the right foot so to speak, and why breakfast can make, or break the day depending on what you are looking to do. We want to extract as much energy as possible for our day. Or perhaps we want to kick-start our metabolism to lose weight. Maybe you want to gain weight. Those are all great things that breakfast can offer you. So if you have been struggling with what to eat, and how much to eat, read on.


Let's clear up the confusion so we can start to get out of bed, look forward to a great routine that works for us, and feel better about our choices. Let the choices you make work for you. There is no one size fits all breakfast choice here. As I mentioned, some want to lose weight, some want to gain weight, others may just want to get something in so they don't have to think about it until lunch, or maybe, breakfast is something you would rather skip. All are okay options when we have goals to reach. Just make sure to choose the right one for you.  


Lose Weight

Time to kickstart your day then, breakfast is your opportunity to set the stage for fat gain, or fat loss. When trying to lose weight, you need to ensure you are getting enough caloric intake, so many people skip meals in hopes of taking in less food and trying to lose weight that way. That is the wrong idea. To get your metabolism working in your favor consume a breakfast option that satisfies your hunger, and that is real food, primarily made up of protein, fat, and some great fibrous vegetables. This communicates to the body in a way that ensures you will start to burn some fat stores as opposed to glycogen stores.











Gain Weight


Gaining weight is a challenge for many folks out there. Breakfast for you my friends is an opportunity that you do not want to miss either. Eat. Make sure that you are eating until satisfied, and that your choices contain Protein, Fat, and Carbohydrates. Eat soon after waking and ensure that fat and carbohydrate are heavily prevalent in your breakfast to start your day on a higher caloric point, starting too late in the day becomes difficult to achieve a daily goal necessary to gain quality weight.


Energy and Maintenace


Maintaining a healthy weight, and a healthy body involves listening and communicating well with your body. Sometimes you wake up feeling hungry, sometimes you don't feel like eating until lunch and all you want to put back is a coffee. That's okay, in fact that is completely normal. My recommendation is listen to your body. Don't eat right away if that's not what you feel like doing. Of course, if you have a day full of activities ahead of you and breakfast is the chance to hold you over until that next meal, you better get to it. However, if coffee, tea, or water is all your body is saying it wants right now, and in a half hour, hour, or 2 hours later you are hungry and now ready to eat, great! eat at that point. When you do wake up really hungry, or woke up because of hunger, get to it, start making breakfast right away and give your body what it needs. There is no one size fits all program when it comes to a diet, and that most certainly does not apply to when your body feels hungry either. In doing this, you begin to have a different relationship with your body, you listen more, and as a result all functions become better. 


Either way, whatever your health goal may be, the first goal should be to get the highest quality food in your body as you can. Enjoy your breakfast, make time for breakfast, slow down and just appreciate a good breakfast. Set the tone for your day, and respect the fact that it's your fuel, eat well and watch how your body can feel when you do.

    So in the morning would you say workout first then eat or eat than workout for trying to lose weight.
